Magic Make-up

While everyone makes a cream, a gel
A miracle that promises you
Those fine lines and wrinkles
Will vanish with recurrent use
How I wish they would instead
Discover a formula that could
Give you crow’s feet from smiling
And shiny skin from being healthy
How I wish the love handles could be
Loved to hug and the men they
Would not seek bags of bones
That make up companies
Showed rosy cheeks in advertisements
And real happy women
Not sulky pouts dead eyes
Perfectly kohled but empty
I wish to see real people
Not just mannequins impossible
Whom we see and dread the scales
But who are found in
Asylums and rehab
